EYFS – DAVIES Class

A warm welcome to our class page!

I am thrilled to have every one of you here. I would like to introduce myself, Mr Humphreys, as your new Early Years class teacher and I can’t wait to embark on this learning journey together. Your presence is valued, and I am here to support and guide you every step of the way. Let's make this a space for inspiration, encouragement, and meaningful learning experiences.

Throughout the year, we will explore interesting topics through our ‘3Ps’ curriculum: person, place and point. Our topic for this term will be titled “The Big Bang” which focuses on:

  • Person: Mary Anning
  • Place: Planet Earth
  • Point: Jurassic Period

This term, our class book for English is ‘How to Look After Your Dinosaur’ by Jason Cockcroft.

This book will introduce new vocabulary with exciting visual images. There are chaotic scenes around the house and in the park, as the little boy tries to care for his new dinosaur, from breakfast to bedtime. As the book progresses, it’s clear that the boy and his dinosaur are becoming fast friends. The dinosaur chaos becomes more and more enjoyable, as told by the boy’s growing smile.

About Me

I have always been extremely passionate about education and growth. Teaching is the most rewarding way I can serve my community and significantly improve the lives of others. I have been working with Early Years Foundation Stage children for several years. My years of experience have taught me the value of patience and encouragement in the Early Years classroom.

This is my first year of teaching at John Burns Primary School and I am committed to promoting the school's mission statement and school values.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking and exploring the different architectural buildings in London.

Thank you

Mr Humphreys
