Y5 – Shakespeare Class

Hello and welcome to the Year 5 Shakespeare Class page

This year myself (Miss Williams), Mrs Swaby and Mr Harding are looking forward to working with the Year 5 class, covering some very interesting exciting projects; Star Gazers, Time Travellers, Ancient Egypt and Tudors to name a few.

Please take a look at the detailed curriculum map for coverage of academic and creative subjects across the term.

The class will go swimming on a Tuesday afternoon at Latchmere Leisure Centre. Please make sure that your child comes into school with their swimming bag containing their costume and towel. If your child has long hair then a swimming cap must be worn.

This term will start with the topic ‘Star Gazers’. We will be answering questions such as: Why do we have night and day? Why does the moon change shape? Can you tell the time without a clock?

If you or a member of your family have any expertise or resources on any of these topics you would be willing to share, we would love to hear from you.

About me…

I went to the University of Nottingham to study Zoology, fulfilling my passion for science and animals.

I undertook my PGCE in Reading where I taught in a variety of schools.

I have recently moved to London from Bath and am very excited to be working at John Burns Primary School with Year 5.

If you have any concerns or suggestions, please either catch me at the end of the day. Alternatively, you can make an appointment with the school office to see me.

Best Wishes
Miss. C. Williams
(Year 5 Class Teacher)
